Hi there, I’m Jen.
I’ve been a single mom for over eight years. So I truly understand the highs and lows of single parenting.
Currently, I have 2 teenagers and 2 dogs. You can usually find me watching The Office reruns for the 5th time with my son or eating chips and salsa with my daughter – we consider it a full meal.
The name “Sunflower Mom” is who I’d like to be, honestly. I am not all flowers and rainbows. I tend to be a little pessimistic so I need a lot of grace and joy.
It’s my mission at Sunflower Mom to help single moms live their best life in their current season with God’s grace and love.
I know firsthand the single parent journey can be lonely and long.
When I was a newly single mom, I felt like I was the only single mom out there. I couldn’t find any resources specifically for single moms.
It’s on my heart to consolidate and share here what I spent years searching for.
So take what resonates with you, and leave what doesn’t.
No matter who you are – you are welcome here!

It's something we all do but few of us admit - yell at our kids. We all know we shouldn't but how do you quit? Yelling at our kids is an especially touchy topic for single parents because we don't have any other adults in the house to step in and give us a break when things get heated. In this episode we'll explore some strategies that have worked for other parents to stop screaming at their children.
