Our Internal Dialogue
We are our own biggest critics. We would not talk to others the way we talk to ourselves. Think for a moment of how you talk to yourself throughout the day. What do you tell yourself? As you go through your day do any of these sound familiar…
- I’m so stupid.
- That was dumb of me.
- Why am I wearing that I don’t look good in this?
- My hair’s too short.
- I look fat in this.
- That was a dumb thing to say.
- I’m not good enough to do this.
- I can never do that.
The list goes on and on. And except for exchanging a word here or there, most of our internal tapes are the same. But the truth is – none of it is true.
And here’s how you can know. Ask yourself for each of the things that you tell yourself this question: would you tell your child any of this about themselves?
Are you looking for hope, encouragement, and a simple system to keep you connected to God each day, all day?

Of course not. So why are we not listening to our parent, Our Father? Instead, we think we know best and we are listening to our internal voice which is very tainted by the enemy who wants to bring us down. That voice wants to distract us from God. It wants to distract us from living to our fullest potential.
Benefits of Using Christian Affirmations
Below is a list of Christian affirmations that spell out who you are in God. These are actual truths from God. This is who you are. Repeating these biblical affirmations and replacing these truths with the lies currently in your head will help you to:
- Living a free life
- Living your true calling from God
- gaining confidence in yourself that you can then pass it on to your to others especially your children
- Live a positive lifestyle
- Be a happier mom
- Calmer household
I encourage you to go to the resource library and cut out the Christian affirmation cards and take a different truth each day or week. Hang each one up in a prominent place so that you can meditate on these and start replacing the negative words in your head with who you really are in God.
For example, every time you tell yourself that you are a failure have nearby the card for that week that tells you that you are a saint (Ephesians 1:1).
At first, you will mess up all the time, but the more you practice this, the easier it will become.
Another word of caution, just when you feel like you don’t need to continue this process is when you will find that you need to actually continue this process. If that doesn’t make sense right now – it will later!
