Learning 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 with Your Children
We are all the way to the 18th verse in our series to learn one bible verse for each letter of the alphabet.
The Bible verse for “R” is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Print off 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 from my resource library then hang it up during the week. Either keep it hung up by the bed where you practice each evening or print out multiple to keep the verse a friendly reminder! Choose from two different versions.
Explaining the meaning of the verse to your child can enhance their memorization.
When discussing with your child you can break the verse down to three commands. I’ve included a children’s lesson for each one. You can choose which one you’d like to focus on with your children.
- rejoice – lesson for rejoicing always
- pray – a lesson on praying
- give thanks – cultivating a thankful heart
Learn through song
At 2 minutes and 44 seconds, it’s not too long to fit all of this into a nightly routine. That’s how my kids were able to learn these 26 Bible verses in 26 weeks.
